Works and Housing Minister Honoured by Youth Leadership Parliament

The Minister for Works and Housing Hon. Francis Asenso-Boakye, has been honoured with ‘The Rising Star Award’ by the Youth Leadership Parliament of Ghana under its initiative of the Millennium Impact Awards today in his office in Accra.

The Minister’s nomination for the award is in recognition of his exemplary leadership over the years, which has inspired thousands of youths in leadership across the country. “Rising through the ranks as a young political activist to become a Deputy Chief of Staff and Minister for Works and Housing, your commitment to national leadership is impeccable”. The citation accompanying the award reads.

Explaining the modalities in the nominations of individuals for the award, the founder of the Youth Parliament, Mr Kobby Fabian, disclosed that, the nominees for the Millennium Awards go through a rigorous selection and vetting processes by its Board and are subsequently voted upon by an electoral college from across the country to confirm the deserving winners.

The awardees, according to Mr Fabian, must have distinguished themselves in three (3) thematic areas namely, a drive towards Transformation of Lives, Value addition and one’s ability to institute enabling Environment for Human Development.

Hon Asenso-Boakye expressed his gratitude to the Leadership of Parliament for the honour conferred on him and assured that, this will further boost his commitment towards the national course. The Minister urged the ‘young leaders to continue in their resolve to inspire and model other youths into responsible leaders who understand and appreciate the country’s governance structure for the beautiful future that awaits them.
