Accra, September 10, 2024—The Ministry of Works and Housing (MWH) has inaugurated an 8 member Information Communication Technology Steering Committee (ICTSC) to oversee the planning, implementation, and governance of the Ministry’s Information Technology (IT) system, procedures, and practices in a strategic and proactive manner aimed at improving operational efficiency and addressing technological risks.
The inauguration, led by the Chief Director of the Ministry, took place on Tuesday 10th, September 2024, with members drawn from key Directorates and Units, including Research, Statistics, and Information Management (RSIM); Policy, Planning, Budgeting, Monitoring, and Evaluation (PPBME), General Administration and Finance Directorates as well as Procurement and Legal Units.
In his opening address, the Chief Director, Rev. Stephen Yaw Osei, underscored the importance of ICT in revolutionising organizational processes. He urged Committee members to stay updated on technological developments such as digitalisation and artificial intelligence and emphasized the necessity for all staff to use the Corporate Email for official correspondence.
The ICTSC, chaired by the RSIM Director, will lead efforts to modernise the Ministry’s IT infrastructure. The RSIM Director expressed gratitude on behalf of members for the privilege to serve and reiterated the Committee’s critical role in streamlining the Ministry’s business processes and ensuring the successful implementation of its ICT policy.
Members of the Committee include Naa Angorkor Osa-Kwao (Chairperson), George Laryea, Matthew Taabazuing, Frederick Lomotey, Abul-Wasiu Saulihu, Bernice Ansah, Augusta Nyarko, and Gideon Okyere Gyau.
