WORKS AND HOUSING’S CHIEF DIRECTOR RECEIVES AWARD

The Chief Director of the Ministry of Works and Housing, Mr. Solomon Asoalla, has been honoured as the third best performed Chief Director in Ghana’s Civil Service for 2019. The Award ceremony took place at the just ended 2020 Civil Service Week and Awards Celebration in Accra.

Mr. Asoalla, was the best performed Chief Director in 2015 and 2018.  He was also the second best Chief Director in 2016 and third best in 2017.

The best performed Chief Director for 2019 is Mr. Patrick Numo, Chief Director of the Ministry of Finance and followed by Mr. Benjamin Kofi Gyasi, Chief Director for the Ministry of Education.

Other officers from the Ministry of Works and Housing who also received awards are Mr. Ebenezer Sam (Director HRMD), for Outstanding Achievement Award-1st Position, Ms. Lily Adzedakor (Assistant Planning Officer), for Recognition of Creativity and Innovation and Mr. Peter Manu (Assistant Transport Officer) for Loyalty and Dedicated Service.

The following officers from the Ministry’s Departments also received various awards:

Arc. Mrs. Glory Nana Yaa Nartey, Head of Public Works Department-Prestige, Mr. Justin Okyere Gyamfi (Planning Officer), Department of Rural Housing, Madam Mary Sowah (Private Secretary), Department of Rural Housing, Mr. Zakari Seidu (Rent Manager), Rent Control Department and Mr. Kwabena Asamoah (Executive Officer), Rent Control Department.

The celebration, which was organised by the Office of the Head of Civil Service, has as its theme, ‘Civil Service and Private Sector Synergy: A National Development Imperative’.

This aims at ensuring an effective alliance between the private and public sectors to accelerate development in the country.The celebration also aims at promoting interaction with clients and the general public on the role of the Civil Service in national development and solicit for feedback to improve the quality of services delivered by the Ministries and their Departments.

Some dignitaries in attendance were the Chief of Staff, Hon. Akosua Frema Osei Opare, the Minister of Finance, Hon. Ken Ofori-Atta, Minister of Energy, Hon. John Peter Amewu, Chairperson of the Ghana Civil Service Council, Justice (Rtd) Rose Constance Owusu and the Head of Civil Service, Nana Kwasi Agyekum Dwamena.
