Director, Internal Audit
Ms. Abena Timah is a Chartered Accountant with several years of audit experience across several institutions in the Public/Civil Service. Her expertise in IFRS application for financial reporting, risk aversion strategies, and audit assurances makes her a valuable auditing resource.
In 2001, she began her service to the nation as an Accountant and Internal Auditor for the Accra Metropolitan Assembly (AMA) at Ashiedu Keteke, Ayawaso Central and the Head office. She later joined the Ghana Health Service in 2011 as an Internal Auditor at the Princess Marie Lousie Hospital and Mamprobi Polyclinic now Hospital, rising to the rank of Principal Internal Auditor.
In 2016, she was posted to the Ministry of Health Head office and in 2019 transferred to National Cardiothoracic Centre at Korle – Bu Teaching Hospital as the Head of Internal Audit Unit.
Having worked in the health sector for 12 years, she was posted to the Ministry of Roads and Highways as Chief Internal Auditor. Currently, she is the Head of the Internal Audit Unit (IAU) at the Ministry of Works and Housing with oversight responsibility as the Sector Head for the Departments and Agencies.
She holds a master’s in finance and a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants, Ghana and the Institute of Internal Auditors, Ghana.
