DEPUTY MINISTER COMMISSIONS SETHI REALTY HOUSING
The Hon. Deputy Minister of Works and Housing, Freda Prempeh, commissioned a 240-housing unit comprising two and three bedrooms and a bridge at Kpone in the Kpone-Katamanso Municipal of the Greater Accra Region.
The projects were constructed by Sethi Realty, a Real Estate company in Ghana.
The housing units is an initiative by the company as part of public-private partnership with the Ministry aimed at reducing the housing deficit in the country.
The construction of the bridge and a road through the Sethi Real Estate is also to serve as a diversion for motorists to ease traffic on the Tema-Aflao road to Dawhenya.
Commissioning the projects, Hon. Freda Prempeh, commended Sethi Realty for the good work done.
According to the Hon. Deputy Minister, Government recognises the indispensable role of public-private partnership in addressing and improving the quality of housing in the country.
She said the Government’s vision is to use an appropriate mix of public policy and public private investments to deliver affordable social housing and private housing solutions that meet the needs and financial capacity of the ordinary Ghanaian.
The Hon. Deputy Minister added that the Government recognises the dream of all Ghanaians to own a home or failing that at least to have a decent rental accommodation.
She urged the real estate companies to be innovative, saying modern era of construction of housing should not take a longer time to complete. She added that technology that will bring a paradigm shift is imperative for the country’s development.
The Chief Executive Officer of Sethi Realty Companya, Mr. Godwin Adjei-Gyamfi, said the vision of the company is to have a gated community that will provide state-of-the-art facilities, a pharmacy, recreational facility, security post and standby generator that will ensure a 24-hour power supply with affordable apartments.
