CHINESE INVESTORS VISIT WORKS AND HOUSING MINISTRY
Honourable Deputy Ministers, Barbara Asher Ayisi, Eugene Boakye Antwi and the Chief Director of the Ministry, Mr. Solomon Asoalla, received the delegation on behalf of the Ministry.
Addressing the delegation, Honourable Barbara Asher, said Ghana and China have a long standing relationship and hoped that the two countries will collaborate to roll out Affordable Housing for the good people of Ghana.
She said Government is committed to working closely with the private sector and revealed that the China-Africa Capacity Cooperation Innovation and Development Group, wants to construct 50,000 housing units across the country and establish building materials market in Ghana.
The Honourable Deputy Minister stated that the Nana Akufo-Addo led Government is poised to make things better in the country by reducing the housing deficit and that the Government will construct 200,000 housing units across the country this year.
On his part, Honourable Eugene Boakye Antwi, expressed the Ministry’s gratitude to the delegation for its good intention and hoped for better collaboration between the Ministry and the Group so that the project can be realised.
Mr. Wang Zhucai, leader of the Chinese delegation, thanked the Ministry for its warm reception and said the Group wants to contribute positively to Ghana’s economy.
He assured the Ministry that the Group has the capacity to carry out the housing project and also establish building materials market which will create employment for Ghanaians.
