As part of the activities to commemorate the 2022 Civil Service Week Celebration and Awards Ceremony, the Office of Head of Civil Service (OHCS) organized a four-day Policy and Tourism Fair at the forecourt of CLOGSAG office within the Ministries.

The Event, which was under the theme “Digitization in the Civil Service of Ghana: An Agenda for Improved Productivity and Service Delivery afforded opportunities for Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) as well as other public service institutions to converge on one designated venue and showcase services rendered to the public towards national development while deepening collaboration between the civil service, the private sector, and its clientele.

Under the auspices of the Public Relations Unit, the Ministry of Works and Housing together with the Rural Housing Department participated in the Fair from Monday 25th to Thursday 28th July 2022.

On display at the Ministry’s stands at the fair were photographic evidence of completed or ongoing projects and programmes spanning from Housing, Coastal or Sea Defense Works, and Drainage.

To align with the Digitalization Agenda of the 2022 Service Week, the Ministry deployed digital presentations (abstracts and prototypes) of the New Strategy of the Affordable Housing Programme as well as the upcoming structural interventions of the GARID Project

The Department of Rural Housing on the other hand also exhibited locally manufactured building materials such as bricks, and roofing tiles among others.

Documents and library materials that provide Policy and administrative information on the Ministry, its Department, and Agencies were on display. The idea was to use the occasion to sensitize the public (as a major stakeholder) to better understand the operations of the Ministry and its subsidiaries.

Due to the strategic location of the Ministry’s Exhibition Stand, scores of visitors thronged it, with enquiries particularly centered on the availability and how to access the Rental Housing Units, the Affordable Housing Units as well as Certification enquires.

Notable Persons who visited the Ministry’s Stand were the Head of the Civil Service, Nana Kwasi Dwamena, the Chief Director of the Ministry, Mr. Solomon Asoalla, and other Chief Directors, of other Ministries. Directors.

The Head of Public Relations and staff of the Unit as well as officers from the Department of Rural Housing were on hand to interact and respond to all enquiries.
